How to Create Old Film Effect in Adobe After Effect CS4, for beginners

Actually yesterday, I  have discussed about Create The Old Film Effect, but I am editing use an Edius 6 Software. And for this stage, I would like to share about Video Editing again, use an Adobe After Effect Software. 

If you guys don't have this Software, you can download first. Before starting to follow our Video Editing Tutorial. In here I am using Adobe After Effect CS4 version. But, it's up to you for using any version. 

And we will discuss about How to Create Old Film Look in After Effect. Of course we will make a Video to be like the Old Movie. Use an Old film effect from Adobe After Effect. It's meant we are not make the effect manually, but we are must download first the Old Film Effect. The name of File is "REAL 8mm Film Stock Footage ", and you can download on http://youtu.be/bTR8Rfdqoo0.

Actually it's so easy guys, that's why this Adobe After Effect Tutorial are appropriate for beginners. Ok guys I will start to explain the Video editing Tutorial for Beginners. Please follow our Tutorial step by step. For the satisfying result. 

How to Create Old Film Effect in Adobe After Effect CS4 Version, for beginners :

1. Open the Adobe After Effect CS4 Application. Make the New Composition first. 

By clicking Composition > New Composition ( Ctrl + N). In here we must determine the preset according to the Video that will be edited. In here I am using the preset : PAL D1/DV Widescreen. Then click OK button.

2. Import the Video that will be edited. By clicking File menu >Import > File... (Ctrl+I).

And you need to Import "REAL 8mm Film Stock Footage " ( old film overlay ) video. That has been downloaded.

3. Import both videos to the Timeline by dragging to the Timeline section. Position the "REAL 8mm Film Stock Footage " video at the top.

4. Click "Toggle Switch / Mode " to show up the "Mode ".

5. Then change the Mode of "REAL 8mm Film Stock Footage ". From the Normal Mode to the Multiply.

6. In the sixth step of this Video Editing, You need to click Toggle Switch / Mode , to show up the Mode

7. In this step, we need to set the Video effect, by clicking Effect > Color Correction > Hue/Saturation

8. After that, give the check mark on Colorize, and change the value of Colorize Saturation to "0". That setting is to get the impression of a black and white film.

9. After all editing Process is complete. The last step is to Export Video Result wich is has benn edited to the Video Format that we want. 

The way to Export is click on File menu > Export. Then, choose the quality of video, and the video type. ok, and done.
